"Q and False" was the first TNG short story published in Star Trek Explorer. It was written by Lisa Klink, illustrated by Christian Rosado, edited by Jonathan Wilkins, and published on 10 November 2021. The story was collected in the Q and False and Other Stories omnibus in December 2022.

Picard, Worf, and Troi encounter a colony of aliens who worship "the All-Knowing".
