Queen Vaq was a revered historical figure from Bolarus. She was the monarch of Alnat, an independent nation from the time before Bolarus was politically united. She led Alnat to victory in several consecutive wars until it became the most powerful nation on the planet. However, she was eventually forced to abdicate after leading Alnat to economic ruin.

In 2379, Federation President Min Zife invoked the story of Queen Vaq in his resignation speech. (TNG novel: A Time for War, A Time for Peace)
