QumwI (also called QumwI the Eminently Quotable) was a Klingon, believed to be the son of Kahless the Unforgettable. He developed many sayings that became the foundation of Klingon thought and are still repeated today. For example:
- Revenge is a dish best served cold
- A running man can slit a thousand throats in a single night / A running man can slit four thousand throats in a single night
- only a fool fights in a burning house
- The end justifies the means (also widely attributed to Niccolò Machiavelli)
