A quoghart was a type of large animal native to the planet Treva.
Trevans captured them with snare traps, using very strong rope nets with attached bells to signal activity.
Aurora suggested using a quoghart net trap to capture Data as he approached Warrior's Rest, thinking it would be strong enough to hold the android. It was successful, but he was able to break the ropes. (TNG novel: Survivors)
