Namesakes[]
Valdore i'Kaleh tr'Irrhaimehn was an admiral in the Romulan Imperial Fleet and a former senator in the Imperial Senate of the Romulan Star Empire in the 22nd century. In the 2150s, he was appointed Commander of the Romulan Imperial Fleet and led the war effort in the Earth-Romulan War on behalf of the praetor. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)
In the 2370s, the Imperial Fleet operated a Mogai-class[4] warbird named IRW Valdore. Commander Donatra's Valdore was instrumental in stopping Praetor Shinzon and the IRW Scimitar from eradicating all life on Earth in 2379. (TNG movie: Star Trek Nemesis)
That Valdore then served as flagship of the short-lived Imperial Romulan State under Empress Donatra in the 2380s. Following the reunification of the Romulan Star Empire, Donatra vanished under mysterious circumstances aboard the Scimitar-class[5] IRW Valdore. (STO website: The Path to 2409)
The second Valdore ended up assimilated by the Borg, serving the Collective until 2409. (STO - Borg Advance mission: "Khitomer Conduit")
Active service[]
The Valdore-class was in service by the year 2383. (TNG novel: Indistinguishable from Magic)
In the fledgling Romulan Republic Navy, the RRW Valdore served as lead ship of the Valdore-class heavy warbird, a variant of the Mogai class. The vessel was initially rated tier 3 but retrofitted to tier 6 status. (STO website: Legacy of Romulus: Romulan Warbird Stats)
From 2410 onwards, the Valdore represented its class on the shipyards interfaces operated by New Romulus Shipyards, Klingon Defense Force Order of Builders and Starfleet Shipyards Operations at Khitomer Alliance facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - Refractions missions: "Explore the Flotilla", "First City", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Flag officers of the Alliance could deploy theValdore alongside other spacecraft for assignments across the galaxy's quadrants as part of Operation: Delta Rising's four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")
In 2411, the Valdore was refitted to a legendary starship, temporal ops-specialized configuration. This included fitting the vessel with a wing of temporal ops-rated Scorpion-class fighter squadron. The legendary Valdore temporal ops configuration was also applied to ships of the sister classes Mogai, Morrigu and Melponar. (STO website: Refractions: The Legendary Valdore Temporal Ops Warbird)
