RT-2203 was a spacecraft type used by Humans from the planet Earth, a vehicle series capable of being outfitted for interstellar space travel as a starship with mission profiles including deep space exploration. This class was used in the early 22nd century.

History and specifications[]

The SS Tomobiki was an RT-2203 type vessel in the 2110s decade. (TNG episode: "Up the Long Ladder"; Star Trek: The Next Generation — The Official Magazine Issue 10: "Art of the Next Generation")

Since the ship's name was a reference to the fictional Tomobiki districtWP that was the setting for the Japanese animated series Urusei YatsuraWP, the "RT" in the ship type may be a reference to Rumiko TakahashiWP, the creator of the series.
This ship type's 2119 configuration was presumably slower than warp factor 2, predating the breaking of the warp 2 barrier in 2143.
