Ralph Antara was a 23rd century Human man. He was a geologist who worked at the Pergium Production Station on Janus VI in 2270.
Biography[]
In the 2260s, Antara was studying geology in college when his family faced a sudden financial hardship. Fellow student Jack Katz loaned him the funds needed to complete his studies.
By 2270, at 22 years old, Antara had become a geology expert. He was qualified for mining operations and somewhat skilled at marksmanship and unarmed combat. He gained basic familiarity with ground vehicle operations such as tunnel runners and sizzle bugs.
In 2270, he signed on as a geologist at the Pergium Production Station on Janus VI. To start fitting in, Antara played poker with a group of miners, winning handily against old-time grumpy miner Louis Handy. Handy seemed low on funds at the time, but later had a changed attitude and happily paid his losses in a manner that Antara thought suspicious.
A few months later, Antara and Katz renewed their friendship when Katz joined the station's staff. Two weeks later, Antara witnessed Katz and Handy scuffling in the mess hall. The next day, when Handy and a Horta were murdered, with Katz reported missing, Antara joined search parties and insisted that Katz wouldn't have killed them. Later, as an investigative team from the Federation starship USS Enterprise interviewed station personnel, he reiterated his feelings and told them about Handy's odd behavior.
