Ramatis III, also commonly called Ramatis, was a Federation member world in the Ramatis system, near the border between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. The leaders of the Ramatisians, its indigenous species, suffered from hereditary deafness. The famed Federation mediator Riva hailed from this world. (TNG episode: "Loud as a Whisper")
First Splinter timeline[]
In 2381, Ramatis issued a planetary distress call when the Borg Collective attacked the planet. The USS Enterprise-E responded, but arrived too late and found all life on Ramatis destroyed. The Borg cube was still in orbit of the planet, sweeping up satellites and debris as raw material until the Enterprise destroyed it with transphasic torpedoes. (ST - Destiny novel: Gods of Night)
