The Reckoning was a prophecised event within the Bajoran faith.

Overview[]

This event was a battle that had been long prophesied by the ancient Bajoran people who stated that it would occur between the Prophets and the Pah-wraiths at the Gateway to the Temple.

In the lost city of B'hala, a tablet detailed the event but would later be long forgotten by scholars. The tablet would be lost for thirty thousand years until the excavation of the city in 2374 when Emissary of the Prophets Benjamin Sisko uncovered it with the efforts of Ranjen Koral. After the instability of the Celestial Temple, a series of floods, earthquakes and storms ocured on Bajor. The conflict would eventually occur when Major Kira Nerys was possessed by a Prophet who did battle with Kosst Amojan that had possessed Jake Sisko. This battle was averted due to the intervention of Kai Winn. (DS9 episode: "The Reckoning")

The True Emissary of the True Prophets Weyoun would state in the alternate future created by the War of the Prophets that this event was not the one prophecised as corporeal beings would not be able to stop a battle between gods. He stated that upon the Day of Ascendancy when the two Wormholes opened in conjunction with one another would the True Reckoning occur and bring about a new age for the universe. (DS9 novels: Millennium, The War of the Prophets)
