The Reemea-class (also known as T10 alphanumerically and translated from Romulan language as Bright One) was a class VI starship of the Romulan fleet in service during the late 23rd century. Classified as a destroyer, it was named after the reemea. (FASA RPG module: Romulan Ship Recognition Manual)

Specifications[]

This class was intended to replace and improve upon the Vastagor Lattam-class destroyer. Such ships were initially powered by two type RWC-2 warp engines and type RIC-2 impulse engines. They were armed with four type RB-8 disruptors all placed forward, two to port, two to starboard. Each ship was equipped with a type RSE deflector shield and a type RCC cloaking device. They featured two 9-person transporters, a cargo transporter, and one 20-person emergency transporter.

A type 2 variant added a forward-mounted photon torpedo launcher and larger type RIE-1 impulse engines, which increased the ship's mass to 63,400 metric tons.

These vessels were very brightly painted, each uniquely patterned in rainbow colors. Ships tended to be cramped and smaller than comparably-powered Starfleet destroyers.

Service history and disposition[]

This class entered service in the early 2270s decade, on reference stardate 2/16, with 90 constructed as of the mid-2280s. The type 2 variant entered service in the early 2280s, on reference stardate 2/21, with 20 constructed. The vessels were mostly assigned to border patrol missions. (FASA RPG module: Romulan Ship Recognition Manual)

In the early 2280s, on reference stardate 2/2113.12, a convoy of three Monarch-class freighters protected by a Reemea-class destroyer and two Verelan Vastarum-class scouts was ambushed by the IKS Defender and IKS Hunter. One freighter was destroyed during the battle. (FASA RPG module: The White Flame Starship Combat Scenario Pack mission: "Starting Off With a Bang")

In the mid-2280s, on reference stardate 2/2218.18, two type 2 Reemea-class destroyers were ambushed by the Red Wing squadron of IKS Deathmonger, IKS Seeker, and IKS Guardian near Romulan Outpost 4. The destroyers regrouped in an asteroid belt and survived long enough to heavily damage Seeker before they were lost and the outpost wrecked. (FASA RPG module: The White Flame Starship Combat Scenario Pack mission: "Operation Eradicate: Scenarios 3 and 4")

As of the mid-2280s, Starfleet Intelligence had recorded the unique paint schemes of seven Reemea-class vessels. (FASA RPG module: Romulan Ship Recognition Manual)
