Reese Latimer was a 23rd century Human man who served in Starfleet, eventually as an officer, a member of the crew of the Federation starship USS Enterprise.

Biography[]

Latimer was born in 2242 in Vienna, Austria. With hobbies of anthropology, cliff diving, and rock climbing, he attended Starfleet Academy in the 2260s. He became first-level certified as a shuttlecraft pilot during his cadet cruise aboard the USS Avenger in 2263 and graduated in the 82nd percentile of his class in 2264.

His first posting was as a junior watch officer for hangar deck operations aboard the USS Enterprise. In 2265 he completed his second-level pilot certification and was promoted to lieutenant. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

In 2267, Latimer was one of the members of the ill-fated Galileo shuttle flight to investigate Murasaki 312. He was killed in an attack by the Taurean anthropoid creatures of Taurus II. (TOS episode & Star Trek 10 novelization: The Galileo Seven)

Legacy[]

In 2269, Samuel Boma still resented Commander Spock for Latimer's death. (TOS novel: That Which Divides)

In 2380, Spock confessed to Marinta on Romulus that he felt remorse for Latimer's death. (TOS novel: Captain's Blood)

His first name was provided in Starship Creator.
