For other uses, see Regula.

Regula (Regula I) was a planet in a remote part of space in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, the first planet in orbit of the Mutara sector's Regula star system, in the Regula Badlands.

History and specifics[]

The Regula system was near to the 23rd century Federation border with the Klingon Neutral Zone. (ST video game: Klingon Academy)

The Regula I space station research outpost was located here.

According to Captain Spock of the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise, Regula was "essentially a great rock in space."

It was later revealed that the research team developing the Genesis Device, led by Doctors Carol Marcus and David Marcus, had constructed a giant cave inside the planetoid, filled with various plantlife and water. According to Carol Marcus, it had taken the Starfleet Corps of Engineers ten months to dig out the underground structure, while the matrix used to terraform the cave only needed a day to take shape. (TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: The Wrath of Khan)
