Reiko Akagi was a United Earth Starfleet officer in the 22nd century. In 2156, Akagi had attained the rank of lieutenant and was serving as helmsman aboard the Columbia (NX-02).

History[]

On 18 July 2155 she piloted Columbia in the Battle of Draylax, where the they faced three Romulan controled Klingon cruisers. On captain Erika Hernandez's orders she executed the "Niagara Barrel Roll" maneuver to avoide their tirst attack. After a brief battle , with the help of Enterprise (NX-01), they succeeded in defending Drayax from the attackers.

Four day later the Columbia fought with two captured D'Kyr class combat cruisers near Alpha Centauri. During the battle Columbia's subspace communications system was damaged and they were out of contact with Starfleet for days. (ENT novel: Kobayashi Maru)

Two days later a Vulcan ship towed Columbia to safety.

On 26 November 2155, Columbia was at the Altair system, upgradeing the early-warning system, when the Romulans attacked the sixth planet. At the and of the battle she piloted the ship to Altair VI's atmosphere so they could stop the Romulans from destroying the base there.

On 4 April 2156, the Columbia picked up supply convoy at Tellar to escort them to the Onias sector. (ENT novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

In June she manned the helm when Romulans attacked the convoy, and used Columbia as a weapon to destroy it. With a plan from chief engineer Karl Graylock they managed to escape. She most likly died on the way to Erigol, or from hyperphasic radiation present in the subspace tunnel they used to escape a supernova. (ST - Destiny novel: Gods of Night)
