Reltah

The Reltah was a Romulan Star Empire space station brought into service in the 2270s. It was the first space station ever constructed by the Romulans, the first of many that they hoped would see them equal and exceed the accomplishments of the United Federation of Planets.

In 2278, not long after being brought on line, the Reltah was infiltrated by an energy absorbing lifeform. The lifeform drained Reltah of all but minimal power and also drained heat-energy from its crew, causing death by hypothermia. The station drifted across the Romulan Neutral Zone and into Federation space at speeds approaching full impulse where it was discovered by the USS Enterprise. (TOS novel: Shell Game)
