The Renetran module was a large, floating artificial habitat, one of hundreds of biomes making up the Web of Worlds in the First Federation. It was located within the atmosphere of the class J gas giant Cherela.

Specifics[]

It was a domed module approximately 1,000 kilometers wide created as a nature preserve. Its orchards were the only source for the plants used to make tranya.

A control center managed the artificial gravity system which kept the module afloat, powered by the planet's massive electromagnetic field.

History[]

In 2269, Balok stated that the loss of the Web of Worlds mattered to him immensely, jokingly remarking that if they lost the Renetran module, there would be no more tranya, a great personal loss for him. (TOS novel: The Face of the Unknown)
