Rento was an Orion man and a member of the Orion Syndicate.
In 2385, Quark purchased a holoscreen for the bar, but tried to negotiate the price of the rental with Rento after having signed the contract. Quark did not pay an installment, so Rento deactivated the holoscreen during a speech by Federation President Kellessar zh'Tarash. Faced with losing business with customers leaving the bar to watch the speech elsewhere, Quark sent the payment to Rento. (ST - Prometheus novel: Fire with Fire)
