Log enries[edit | edit source]

  • Captain's personal log, supplemental
Plato proposed than a man and woman were once a single, flawless entity... One that was divided at some point in human history...
... Leaving men and women alike to yearn for their missing halves... To ache for completeness.
Perhaps he had a point-- though I would not limit it to the division of men and women.
It seems to me that every person looks for someone els...
... Someone without whom they feel flawed and fragmentary.
Perhaps, in the final analysis, it is this very feeling that makes us human.
In a sense, the component parts of the
Enterprise seem to me to yearn for completeness as well.
Like the components parts of my crew, they are getting their wish.
