Summary[]
Kes arrives back on Ocampa where she meets with Daggin's son Keva and his wife Nerril. They explain that Daggin took over as Ocampa leader after Toscat died but the power and supplies of the Ocampa city have nearly run out and the Kazon have wrecked any attempt to establish a settlement on the surface.
Kes mentally links with them, telling them of her experiences on Voyager and her regrets over her final meeting with the crew. She then sacrifices herself to use her remaining energy to restore the planet's former lush environment, including vegetation that makes the Kazon ill and forces them to leave. The Ocampa are charged with telling Voyager what became of her if they or anyone like them ever comes back.
