Rex is a character in the Dixon Hill stories. He was a bartender.
Fictional biography[]
The owner of Rex's Bar, he was strapping, charming, friendly, and sympathetic. Loving money and hoping to retire early, Rex often made investments. Some turned out to be criminal scams that Dixon Hill helped extricate him from. As a result, he let Dix's tab run longer than other customers, and resolved to find wealth instead by marrying a rich woman. He was loyal to his friends and good at heart. In 1945, Rex was afraid that Jimmy Cuzzo would kill him, and thought that Cuzzo seeing Dix and Rex together would keep them safe. (TNG episode: "Manhunt")
History[]
In 2365, Jean-Luc Picard interacted with a hologram of Rex while running the Dixon Hill program on the holodeck of the USS Enterprise-D. Unaware that he was holographic, Lwaxana Troi was smitten by the barman whose thoughts she couldn't read. (TNG episode: "Manhunt")
