Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Reyd was a male Breen.

In 2382, Breen held the rank of ghoc and commanded a (squadron) of shock troops dispatched to Janalwa. Reyd was ordered to deploy his troops to disrupt a public rally held by the Kinshaya Devotionalists after the local Inquisitors failed to disperse the gathering and the protestors fought back. The troops fired their weapons at the riot, driving the Devotionalists out. The next day, another rally of much greater size formed and were again ordered to disperse. Reyd found the protestors defiant and provocative, having bet with Vicar General Tepesor on when the uprising's leader would break. After being authorized to have his troops again fire upon the crowd, Reyd chose to intentionally misunderstood his orders and had his troops continue firing after the crowd had panicked. Reyd ordered his troops to continue shooting until their disruptors ran out of energy even though the scene was being broadcast live across the Holy Order, and only a threat of being shot himself caused him to order his troops to stand down.

Reyd was taken into custody by the Kinshaya and the Breen Confederacy branded him a loose cannon who had gone rogue beyond his authority for what was later branded as the Niamlar Massacre. Soon after, Reyd was found to have self-immolated in his cell, leaving only ashes and fragments of armor behind. (ST - Typhon Pact eBook: The Struggle Within)
