In the Greek mythology of Earth, Rhea was a Titan, who was also known as the "mother of the Greek gods".

History and specifics[]

Rhea was the mother of Zeus and Hera. (NF novel: Being Human)

She also played a similar role, as the Planet Mother Spirit, for the Midgwins of Elcidar Beta III. (TOS novel: Ghost-Walker)

Her name was later given to Rhea, a moon of the planet Saturn which, in turn, gave its name to the various Federation starships named USS Rhea. (TNG novel: Greater Than the Sum)
