Rhiannon was a female human who lived on the planet Rampart. She was born in 2354.

Biography[]

When she was very young, Rhiannon’s parents were arrested and taken away by thought-police security officers. She was raised in a group home, but grew frustrated by her rigid Rampart elementary school which would not allow her to draw, tell stories or ask questions, and every week her mind was cleansed. She ran away and joined a band of Dissenters who lived in the caverns of Alastor where they were unobserved by Cephalic Security.

By the 2360s, she had named herself after Rhiannon, a character from the Celtic mythology of Earth. Similar to the mythical character’s close bond with a horse, Rhiannon talked reverently about Saushulima, her dragon-like haguya.

In 2366, Rhiannon met Deanna Troi. She and the Dissenters fled when Lieutenant Daley led a raid on Alastor. Later, Troi had a waking dream in which the mythical Rhiannon had come to life and joined a band of Other-worlders in an assault on CephCom, the headquarters of the thought-police in the city of Verity. In Troi’s dream, the 12-year-old Rhiannon and the mythical character had merged together into an adult whom Troi saw riding valiantly on her horse among the security officers and one-eye robots.
