Rhit was a Bajoran male and a Prylar in the Bajoran religion in the 24th century. He was one of the more "colorful" civilian residents of Deep Space 9 and Odo would often clash with him. Quark thought that Odo talked the same way to Rhit as he did to Quark himself and Elim Garak. (DS9 novel: Hollow Men)

In 2370, Rhit had taken to playing dabo in Quark's and ran up quite sizable debts. His actions had caused a scandal in the Vedek Assembly. Quark called in a favor from Rhit to invite Bareil Antos. Rhit would be called back to Bajor soon after, but had returned prior to 2374. (DS9 episode: "Shadowplay", DS9 novel: Hollow Men)
