Richard James was a 24th century Human serving as a career Starfleet officer in the 2350s and 2360s decades.

Biography[]

In the year 2354, Richard James was listed on directory signs on Starbase 32 as an officer of Starfleet Operational Support Services, in office 35258. (TNG episode: "Violations")

In 2363, he was listed on the dedication plaque of Federation starship USS Phoenix as an officer of Starfleet Advanced Technologies division. (TNG episode: "The Wounded")

Richard James was also listed on the dedication plaque of the USS Enterprise-D as an Starfleet Engineering group officer. (Star Trek: The Next Generation later seasons)

By 2365, James had achieved the title of captain, as the commanding officer of the Federation starship USS Constantinople on special assignment for Terraform Command, around stardate 42523.7. (TNG episode: "The Measure of a Man")

In 2367, he was listed on the dedication plaque of USS Sutherland as an officer of Advanced Technologies. (TNG episode: "Redemption")

In the 2370s, he was listed as an officer of Starfleet Science Operations on the dedication plaque of USS Voyager in 2371 and USS Prometheus in 2373. James was also listed in the crew manifest of Voyager by his rank of lieutenant commander. (VOY episodes: "Caretaker", "Message in a Bottle", "The Killing Game")

Alternate reality[]

In an anti-time future alternate reality, James was listed as an officer of Starfleet's Engineering division on the dedication plaque of the Federation medical starship USS Pasteur. (TNG episode: "All Good Things...")
