Moore

Richard Moore.

Richard Moore was a 22nd century Human man, a farmer by the 2150s decade who owned a small farm near Broken Bow, Oklahoma, on the planet Earth.

Biography[]

At one point, Moore had considered joining Terra Prime, but had no interest in politics. (ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years)

In April of the year 2151, Moore became the first Human to encounter a Klingon, after a K'toch-class scout crash landed on his land. The farmer was eating a breakfast meal of biscuits and gravy and focused on his corn crop when he heard the crash. The Klingon, named Klaang, destroyed one of Moore's corn silos-in order to escape from two pursuing Suliban. Moore believed the aliens were going to use "their brain-sucking weapons" on him in an effort to get his land. In response, Moore shot and seriously injured Klaang; this was the first creature Moore had ever shot outside of crows and rats. (ENT episode & novelization: Broken Bow, ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years)

Moore would later speak to many media outlets about the encounter. (ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years)
