The Rigel sector was a sector of space in the Beta Quadrant. It was named for its most important system, the Rigel system.
In the year 2151, the Klingon Raptor-class scout ship IKS Nu'Tal patrolled the Rigel sector (Decipher RPG module: Starships).
In the late 23rd century, Starfleet's Rigel Sector Material Command was responsible for their equipment, supplies, and logistics within the Rigel sector. It was based at Starbase 27. (FASA RPG - The Orions module: Book of Common Knowledge)
