The Rigelian Trade Commission was the de facto goverment of the worlds of Beta Rigel until 2164, when they joined the United Federation of Planets as the United Rigel Worlds and Colonies. The RTC came into being in the mid-16th century and maintained commerce and communication between the Rigelian worlds for six hundred years.
