Rigelian gene therapy was a treatment developed by the Rigelians in the 22nd century.

One of the primary uses of this treatment was to help control the human medical condition Taggart's Syndrome and make it possible for those afflicted with the disease to live past the age of 20. John Frederick Paxton, despite his well known xenophobia, was one human who had such treatments. (ENT episode: "Terra Prime")

The therapy did not cure the disease, and if a person stopped using the treatments they would eventually die from the Taggart's Syndrome. (ST - Myriad Universes novel: A Less Perfect Union)
