The D10-class (known in Klingonese language as Riskadh-class) was a type of Klingon cruiser starships in Imperial Defense Force service around the time of the 23rd century.

Service history[]

Riskadh-class starships, of the D10A sub-type, were first commissioned into the Klingon Imperial Defense Force on reference stardate 1/9606 (circa the mid-2250s decade). (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual)

In the 2260s, a Riskadh-class ship under the command of Kaz served as the flagship of Kaz's squadron and operated mainly at the Klingon-Romulan border.

Circa 2267 on reference stardate 2/0804, a D10A variant Riskadh-class ship served as the flagship of Battle Group 10 and fought in The Romulan Incident in the Triangle. (StarDrive Issue 1: "Tactics of the Imperial Klingon Navy")

The class was still in production after more than twenty years, when the D10H sub-type was commissioned on reference stardate 2/2009 (circa the late-2270s). (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual)

At some point in the late 23rd century, two ships of this class encountered two Federation Starfleet Hornet-type starships, USS Hornet (9700) and NCC-9701, near an asteroid belt. (ST - Ships of the Line calendar: 2018)

Specifications[]

Riskadh-class starships featured a wider, bulkier secondary hull than their D7-class cousins, but used the same type of nacelle housings and boom section and all except for the D10H sub-type alo used the same command pod. The D10H used the command pod that was used on the L9-class frigates instead. (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual)

Riskadh-class starships were constructed in several production runs, with each differing significantly in terms of size and performance. The first batch was called the D10A sub-type, which was followed by the D10D, D10F, D10G, and D10H sub-types. Ships of the D10A sub-type were classified as class VIII cruisers, whereas ships of all following subtypes were classified as class X cruisers. (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual)
