This article is about the mythological location. You may be looking for the novel, River of Blood.

In mythology, the River of Blood is crossed by a dead Klingon warrior on his way to join the Black Fleet in sto-vo-kor. (TLE novel: The Art of the Impossible)

History and specifics[]

The Klingon death ritual is performed to tell the sentries stationed at the River to await those crossing over. Klag did this for the crew of the IKS Pagh when they were killed in a battle with the Jem'Hadar in 2375. (GKN short story: "A Song Well Sung")

Those Klingons who die by their own hand do not travel across the River of Blood and enter Sto'Vo'kor. (DS9 episode: "Sons of Mogh")
