Ro Talia

A drawing of Ro Talia by her daughter Ro Laren.

Ro Talia was a Bajoran female who lived during the 24th century.

In the 2330s, she married Ro Gale and they had a child named Ro Laren in 2340. During the Occupation of Bajor, she was widowed when her husband died in the midst of a Cardassian interrogation in 2347. Their daughter was forced to sit and watch as he was questioned and tortured to death, while begging for mercy. This ordeal was one of the reasons that Laren ran away, subsequently joining Starfleet. (ST - Terok Nor novel: Night of the Wolves; TNG episodes: "Ensign Ro", "Conundrum")

In 2368, she was listed on her daughter's Starfleet personnel file and at one point her death certificate (before it was discovered that Laren was not in fact dead). (TNG episodes: "Conundrum", "The Next Phase")

In 2369, when Laren was temporarily turned into a child by a spatial anomaly, she took the time to enjoy a childhood which she never had fighting the Cardassians, which included sketching a picture of her mother. (TNG episode: "Rascals")
