Robert "Bob" Bennett was a male Human in Starfleet in the 23rd century.
Biography[]
At one time, he served under then-Admiral James T. Kirk. In the year 2286, Bennett and Kirk would find their positions reversed when Kirk was demoted to the rank of Captain for his actions in rescuing Captain Spock. (TOS novelization: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)
As of 2287, he held the rank of fleet admiral, and served as Starfleet Chief of Staff. In that year, he ordered the USS Enterprise-A to Nimbus III to rescue the Federation, Klingon, and Romulan ambassadors taken hostage there by Sybok. (TOS movie: Star Trek V: The Final Frontier)
Later that year, Bennett again contacted Captain Kirk to warn him of a possible threat against a Federation-Klingon peace conference being held on Starbase 49. (TOS novel: In the Name of Honor)
In 2290, Bennett was one of five admirals who reviewed Hikaru Sulu's violation of orders in crossing the Klingon border. Sulu counted Bennett among those at Starfleet who were supportive of Captain Kirk and those who served under him. (TLE novel: Excelsior: Forged in Fire)
