Robert Louis Stevenson (13 November 1850 - 3 December 1894) was a 19th century author of Earth literature. He was perhaps best known for creating the characters of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Mr. Edward Hyde.

Legacy[]

Stevenson was also known for an enduring corollary. In 2353, Cadet Geordi La Forge paraphrased it to Will Riker as, "When you're in your armchair, you'd rather be having an adventure. When you're having an adventure, you'd rather be in your armchair. (TNG - SA novel: Crossfire)

Decades later in 2378, Captain Jean-Luc Picard would quote it to Colleen Cabot. (TNG - A Time to... novel: A Time to Die)
