Rock creatures were colossal lifeforms native to a class M planet within the vicinity of Motherlode.

History[]

In the year 2269, a pair of rock creatures attacked Harry Mudd and an away team from the Federation Starfleet starship USS Enterprise led by Captain James T. Kirk. (TAS episode & Log Three novelization: Mudd's Passion)

Physiology[]

When dormant, these creatures resembled massive rock formations that did not register as lifeforms to sensors. There were at least two species of rock creatures: One type of rock creature had no legs, moving on a snake-like tail. It had a broad, flat face with three eyes and pincer like claws. Another type of rock creature was quadrupedal, although it was able to stand on its hind legs. It had a long, sharp snout. (TAS episode & Log Three novelization: Mudd's Passion)
