Rokeg blood pie

A dish of Rokeg blood pie.

Rokeg blood pie was a food made by the Klingons. (TLE novel: The Art of the Impossible)

History and specifics[]

Among the people who have enjoyed it include Worf, Curzon Dax and Jadzia Dax. When talking about it to Benjamin Sisko in 2372, Jadzia told him "you won't want to know what the word rokeg means". (DS9 novel: The 34th Rule)

Worf's mother Helena Rozhenko prepared it for him when he was a child. He would still eat it when he was an adult, such as in 2374 when the IKS Rotarran was heading to Donatu V during the war. (TNG episode: "Family", DS9 episode: "Sons and Daughters", DS9 novelization: Call to Arms...)

Rokeg is eaten during the Day of Honor. (VOY novelization: Day of Honor)

Kaga served Rokeg blood pie in his restaurant aboard Deep Space 9. Worf would enjoy eating it there for dessert. Jake Sisko recalled the smell of Rokeg blood pie coming from the restaurant during the Dominion's control of the station in 2374. (Prophecy and Change short story: "Broken Oaths", "Three Sides to Every Story")

In 2373, Grilka planned to have Tumek make Quark a Rokeg blood pie, as she thought there was nothing to better to strengthen his immune defenses. (Prophecy and Change short story: "... Loved I Not Honor More")

Some Klingons enjoy this dish made with vodka. (Star Trek: Klingon)
