From 1985 to 1992, a secret Augment base was housed in Romania. Khan Noonien Singh and Augment Council members coordinated activities with it and similar facilities across Earth. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 2")
In 1992, Romania was annexed into the European Territories by Augment John Ericssen, and by 1996 became part of his expanded Pax Europa before Ericssen was overthrown. (TOS - Khan comics: "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
