Background[]

This character is named after Ronald B. Moore, visual effects supervisor for Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Borg and Star Trek: Enterprise, who also provided his likeness in the viewscreen image. As Moore's rank was commander, it is possible he was the executive officer, although this is not certain.
