Rota was a female Klingon who served as captain of the IKS Ya'Vang in 2379. That year, the Ya'Vang, was part of a fleet of sixty Klingon vessels sent to Tezwa after the destruction of a smaller fleet four hours before. Rota and the Ya'Vang were given the honor of being the first to attack, but just as they were about to strike, the USS Enterprise-E used the Klingon Fleet Command codes to gain control of the entire Klingon fleet completely shutting down power on the ships. The Ya'Vang, along with the rest of the fleet, was guided to the edge of the system and then released. (TNG - A Time to... novel: A Time to Kill)
