During their educational years, Burgoyne 172 and s/he often got into trouble together. Despite Burgoyne's attraction to hir, they didn't pursue a relationship because Rulan valued hir chastity.
S/he was confronted by D'myurj who had disguised themselves as Hermat scientists who told hir that they were conducting experiments to lengthen the Hermat lifespan.
