After Worf is accused of destroying a ship carrying Klingon civilians, the Klingon Empire demands his extradition. Sisko must defend Worf at the hearing.
Summary[]
Worf has a nightmare of a Klingon boarding party victorious and celebrating on the bridge of the Defiant. When Worf reaches the bridge, he finds the bodies of Klingon children. He wakes up.
Worf has been accused of destroying a Klingon civilian ship while in command of the Defiant and the Klingon Empire is demanding his extradition. Admiral T'Lara will hear the extradition request by Klingon advocate Ch'Pok, while Captain Sisko will act as Worf’s counsel.
Advocate Ch'Pok starts his case by claiming that Worf was negligent by firing on the Klingon ship, but Sisko points out that the incident occurred during a battle. Worf thought it was a Klingon warship that decloaked near the Defiant.
Jadzia Dax is Ch'Pok‘s first witness and she is forced to admit that Worf used the violent Tong Vey holosuite program the day before the mission. Ch'Pok‘s claims that Worf’s moral code is not the same as other Starfleet officers.
Both Kira and O’Brien are called as witnesses too and both comment that Worf made the right call, but O’Brien admits that we wouldn’t have made the call himself.
Worf himself is called to testify and after Ch'Pok goads him, Worf knocks Ch'Pok to the floor. Fortunately, Odo finds evidence that there were no civilians on the destroyed transport ship, leading to Worf’s extradition being refused. Sisko points out to Worf he was extremely lucky.
