A running vine plant.
A "running vine plant" was one of the native life forms of the planet K-G. It had a round body with several vines on its top and bottom. It was used by the plant species to capture cattle beasts and place them in enclosures.
In 2266, a running vine plant captured Janice Rand and placed her in an enclosure. (TOS comic: "The Planet of No Return")
