The Rupathan Range was a series of mountains on the planet Obsidian. In 2296, a shuttle carrying a Starfleet party, including Captains Spock and David Rabin, crashed in the Rupathan Range, stranding them in the mountains and surrounding desert for several days, until located by the Starfleet mission in the city of Kalara. The Rupathan Range is within a few days' travel of the Taragi-shar Range. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Forge)
