See Russell for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Russell was a 23rd century Human man. He was a Starfleet historian who served aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise in the 2260s under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

Biography

He was thin and had an ascetic personality. By 2270, Russell was in charge of the ship's historical section.

In 2270, Russell joined Kirk, Leonard McCoy, Adams, Lao Qixhu, Dylan Arios, and three security yeomen in a landing party that searched for survivors in the unflooded Oobast settlement on Tau Lyra III. He marked skeletal remains by knotting yellow markers on nearby tree stalks, and was under the impression that the destruction had been caused by a natural event. (TOS novel: Crossroad)
