S'taass was a male Gorn active in the Gorn Hegemony's foreign service in the early 25th century. (ST video games: Star Trek Online, Legacy of Romulus)

Biography[]

In 2409 S'taass represented the Gorn Hegemony, a client state of the Klingon Empire since the Klingon-Gorn War, to the Klingon High Council. He would also give new arrivals on Qo'noS a crash course in the functioning of the Council. (STO mission: "Glad Handing the Great Hall")

S'taass was part of the Klingon Empire's delegation to the summit on Khitomer regarding the Romulan Republic's political sovereignty. (STO mission: "Turning Point")

Despite the ongoing Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410, the Federation allowed S'taass and a token peaceful Klingon presence to operate out of Deep Space 9. (STO mission: "Venture into Deep Space")

S'taass is the mission giver for Klingon Defense Force player characters in the "Dominion Domination" episode. Starfleet characters instead report to DS9's CO, Captain James Kurland.

S'taass represented the Empire at the anti-Borg conference held aboard DS9, and dispatched an allied captain on some intelligence-gathering assignments beforehand. When the conference was interrupted by the appearance of Dominion forces through the Bajoran wormhole, a Jem'Hadar beamed into the conference room and killed Fleet Admiral Zav glasch Trem. S'taass swiftly avenged the admiral with a blow of his claws and helped the group fight its way to the escape craft and safety. (STO mission: "Second Wave")

In 2410 S'taass again represented the Empire, this time at an international summit on the Undine held in the Jenolan Dyson Sphere by Rear Admiral Tuvok. S'taass said that the Empire had long known of the Undine threat and that the Federation had done nothing, only caring now because their interests were directly threatened. Ambassador Jiro Sugihara attempted to dispute the point but was interrupted by Captain Va'Kel Shon of the USS Enterprise, who admitted that the Federation had made a mistake. S'taass was astonished. (STO mission: "Surface Tension")

Memory Beta

S'taass is voiced by Charlie AdlerWP in Star Trek Online. In a tweet, Cryptic Studios' lead designer Al "CaptainGeko" Rivera jokingly referred to the Gorn as being voiced by "Cobra Commander", in reference to Adler's prior role as the comic book character in 2009 and 2010.

S'taass' voice act features an audible second track of hisses and growls, suggesting that the universal translator has its limits when dealing with non-humanoid species.
