Special Pressed American Meat or "SPAM" was an American food from Earth which was a processed meat. After the USS Voyager encountered a computer virus that kept on creating unwanted ads into the ship's systems, Captain Kathryn Janeway kept calling them "spam" which according to Neelix's universal translator was a food. So he decided to prepare the dish and used the replicators to replicated twenty of small loafs of spam. In his research her found various ways to it, such as with eggs like omelets. Other ways include sandwiches made with fried spam, teriyaki spam with fried rice and jalapeños and spam. (VOY short story: "A Taste of Spam")
