History and specifications[]
In 2371, Voyager was equipped with a pair of Type-6 shuttlecraft, including the Sacajawea. They were built at the ASDB Integration Facility, Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, Mars. (Illustrated Handbook reference: The USS Voyager NCC-74656)
In the year 2373, Captain Kathryn Janeway and Neelix used the Sacajawea for their three-day trade mission to the Tak Tak homeworld. (VOY episode: "Macrocosm")
The same year, the shuttlecraft, piloted by Janeway and Commander Chakotay crash landed on a FGC-505183 II, the second planet in the FGC-505183 star system due to a magnetic storm. (VOY episode: "Coda")
Later in 2373, the shuttle landed at a Nezu colony that the Voyager crew was visiting. Its warp drive and impulse engines were damaged during an attack, forcing Lieutenant Tuvok and Chef Neelix to flee aboard an orbital tether. (VOY episode: "Rise")
