Saddam Hussein

Saddam Hussein (28 April 193730 December 2006) was an Iraqi politician who lived during the 20th and 21st centuries. He served as the 5th President of Iraq from 1979 to 2003.

On the Isle of Arran on 10 September 1993, Roberta Lincoln told Gary Seven that Saddam was interfering with the efforts of United Nations weapons inspectors in Iraq. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 2)

In the early 21st century, the highly controversial Iraq War fought by the United States, the United Kingdom, and their allies in the nation of Iraq with the aim of removing Saddam and his administration from power. The war was launched in March 2003, and within a few months the Iraqi government fell. A short time later, U.S. President George W. Bush declared major combat operations to be over.
