Saint George was a 3rd century sainted Roman soldier fictionalized in Earth legends as a hero who slayed a dragon and saved a princess.

Legacy[]

In 2266, when Montgomery Scott first saw a crystal dragon on Alpha 23-C, he said, "St. George never saw the likes of a dragon like that." (TOS comic: "The Psychocrystals")

Later that year, during a visit to the medieval planet Jodarr, James T. Kirk, Spock and Scott rode brown unicorns toward Ledoy's castle. Kirk commented that he expected to see Saint George emerge to meet a dragon at any moment. (TOS comic: "Spore of the Devil")
