A sandstorm or dust storm is a type of storm where weather conditions caused sand or dust particles to become airborne.

History and specifics[]

On Vulcan sandstorms were a frequent occurrence. Nirak once mistook an approaching army for a sandstorm. After that army decimated the city he was helping guard, Nirak's name entered the Vulcan language as fool. (ENT episode: "The Forge")

Philippa Georgiou and Michael Burnham once encountered a sandstorm on the Crepusculan homeworld. (DSC episode: "The Vulcan Hello")

Another world that had frequent sandstorms was Deneb II. (TOS novel: Devil's Bargain)

Sigma Draconis V endured sandstorms of hurricane intensity. (TOS novel: Cast No Shadow)

Sandstorms were prevalent on Prometheus IV, sometimes striking the same region twice in one day. (TOS video game: The Promethean Prophecy)
