Sanjuro was a movie produced on Earth in 1962 by Akira Kurosawa about a Japanese swordsman.

History and specifics[]

Hikaru Sulu saw Sanjuro when he was a boy. In the year 2266, during a fencing match against Prince Vikram on the USS Enterprise, he used a trick he learned from the movie to defeat the prince in one move. Vikram was very impressed and insisted that Sulu show him how to do it. (TOS novel: Shadow Lord)
